With funding from the Office of Hawaiian Affairs (OHA), the Nā Hoa Ho‘ōla program has developed “The Parent’s Pūpū Platter.” This is a 3-session parent education program that offers practical information for parents about antisocial behavior, effective communication strategies, and time/stress management.

Kanu o ka ‘Āina New Century Public Charter School (www.kalo.org)
Kanu o ka ‘Āina New Century Public Charter School was shaped and influenced by Native Hawaiian values and traditions. Through the latest in educational technology, they provide a culturally driven, academically rigorous curriculum to children in kindergarten through 12th grade. Their vision is to grow from a charter school into a Native Hawaiian community learning center, where educational and cultural needs are addressed and met.

Pū‘ōhala Elementary School
Pū‘ōhala Elementary School strives to be a place where all students experience success in a positive, safe, and challenging learning environment. The mission of Pū‘ōhala Elementary School is to develop each student academically, socially, physically, and emotionally to reach his or her fullest potential as a contributing member of society. The Hawaiian Language Immersion program, in which all subjects are taught in the Hawaiian language, is also available. Students come from outside the community specifically to attend this program.

Ke Kula Kaiapuni O ‘Ānuenue
As with other Hawaiian Language Immersion programs, all classes, with the exception of English and other languages, at Ke Kula Kaiapuni O ‘Ānuenue are taught in the Hawaiian language. Through the language and culture, students are taught to value their Hawaiian well-being. Aquaculture tanks and taro patches complement their curriculum.
